Broadreach Caribbean Voyage 2019

Traveling to another country, alone, for the first time can be so scary. I can say that after going through it myself, it’s not as bad as it can seem. While in the Caribbean I was able to see turtles, stingray, and even swim with sharks. I spent 12 days on a catamaran with nine other students and three instructors. During our trip, we learned the parts of a scuba kit, how to sail, how to dive, and we made a family of who we lived with. At first we were all reserved, but by the end we treated each other like siblings. I never knew what it would be like to build strong friendships with complete strangers. Each of us are different but it made our friendship's so unique and special. It helped me learn more about who I am and where I want to go in the future. This trip has made me want to see the world and experience other cultures. You never know what’s out there until you see it for yourself.
